STYLE Modern

The renovation project for this apartment in the Pigneto district of Rome involved merging two adjacent units to create a single apartment of approximately 140 square metres.
The clients had to adapt the space to the family's new needs. The load-bearing masonry, which replaces the skeleton of the early 20th century building, has gone from being a design constraint to becoming the fulcrum and strength of the project. The connection between the two flats is characterised by an irregularly shaped space with a grey, cement-effect cladding to emphasise the contrast with the existing building. The division of the space has been designed without distorting too much the original layout of the apartments, but trying to adapt the existing to the client's needs: more functional bathrooms, a laundry/storage area, spacious bedrooms and a large kitchen/dining area. TESI 2 radiators with a white finish have been installed in all the rooms. A horizontally striped wall in the bedroom indicates the overhanging volume, enhancing it and making it the focal point of the room.
