A Milanese apartment changes its appearance with a new interior design, preserving the original decorative features. Living in a historical building is like owning a piece of the city's history and living in timeless architecture. This was the decision of a young couple who bought an apartment in a district of Milan characterised by historical buildings dating from the 1930s.

The work involved the whole house, with significant changes to the layout of the rooms. During the renovation, most of the existing partitions were demolished to enlarge the living area and create a single room. The layout of the sleeping area was also made more functional to create more linear and geometric spaces and, most importantly, to enlarge the two bathrooms.

This project can be summed up as a fresher and more contemporary interpretation of the atmosphere of the 1930s, which can be seen in some very clear traces recovered inside the apartment. The bathrooms (one for him and one for her) represent the two sides of a retro style, more classic for her and more industrial for him. The living area is spacious and combines the kitchen, dining room and living room, with light and colours that make the space very fresh and welcoming.
